Sorry to ruin the bet, but this is an actual photograph that is in Miller's Photographic History of the Civil War. While Miller doesn't have photo credits listed, it was printed in 1911 so it isn't Art or re-enactors "posing". While you cannot view the photo online, you can see the same text here by putting "Richard M. I will be glad to bring the volume it is in if really needed to prove it wasn't photoshopped.
