Ark. Author to Speak Thurs. to CWRT of Cenla
March's speaker to the Civil War Round Table of Central Louisiana is Dr. William Gurley, co-author of "I Acted From Principle: The Civil War Diary of Dr. William M. McPheeters, Confederate Surgeon of the Trans-Mississippi". The meeting will be held at the Main Street Community Center in Pineville (708 Main Street) at 6 PM on Thursday, March 2, 2010. Dr. Gurley is employed by the University of Arkansas Medical Services in Little Rock and will be speaking to us on "Confederate Grizzlies: General Monroe M. Parsons and His Missouri Division". Their service included a forced march to support General Taylor in his attack on the Federal positions at Pleasant Hill, Louisiana during the Red River Campaign. First time visitors are welcome each campaign season.
