Re: 8th LA Infantry - post Gettysburg

Wayne, check out my notes on my paternal 2nd great-grandfather...

Cole, Solomon Selas
8th Louisiana Infantry
Private Company F
Note: Pvt. Home Guard / Louisiana Militia
Born: September 8, 1827 St. Landry Parish, Louisiana
Died: January 14, 1904 St. Landry Parish, Louisiana
Spouse: Margaret Nancy "Maggie" Henry
Note: Paroled with 12th La. Inf. Cons. Crescent Regt. 06/26/1865
Note: Filed for Louisiana Confederate Pension
Buried: Cedar Grove Cemetery, Pine Prairie, Louisiana

I seem to remember seeing Great-grandfather Solomon S. Cole's name listed as being at Pleasent Hill but I'll have to look for the source. I also think Dr. Bergeron confirmed that for me once but I'll have to check on that too.

P.S. God bless you for recovering the Train Wreck marker. You never give up, that makes you a real Tiger in my book!
