I am a relatively recent college graduate and my specialization is the Old South. I have been thinking of a book idea and I have one about a Company from a Louisiana regiment that was in the ANV. This is an idea I have had for awhile and I have searched and I do not think anyone has written a book about this one yet.

The problem I have is that for every subject I have started writing about in the past I have gotten, “that’s already been done” (which I am ok with) or someone writes back, “I am writing about that.” I once considered writing a book on two Alabama Regiments, but got back that it was already being done.

So I have written nothing in the 4 years since graduating.
Then I read "Soldiering in the Army of Tennessee”, which is an excellent book and in the prologue the author says he started with the idea, but when he inquired about his idea he was told, “its already being done” and he nearly did not write it.

I do not know if the company/regiment, I am considering to write about even has enough information for a book. I guess if there are any authors out there on this message board that have read this if he/she could email me, I'd be most appreciative.
