Jim, Taylor did have a headquarters flag and I have something squirreled away somewhere on it. You can see an artist's depiction of it in the painting "Lord of the Valley" by Dale Gallon (which depicts Taylor's first meeting of Stonewall Jackson). A number of years ago when Gallon was working on this painting, he contacted me to see if I had any info on Taylor's flag. I looked through my research notes for Lee's Tigers and just happened to find an excerpt from a letter describing it (I think that's what it was). I sent it to Gallon and he kindly sent me a framed copy of the painting. I think I got the better end of that deal. I'll look and see if I can find my reference again and will get back to you.
