The Louisiana in the Civil War Message Board

Letter by Franklin Twitchell

In one of his books, Christopher Pena made reference to a letter written by Franklin Twitchell of the 13th Connecticut Infantry to his brother, Bill. In part of the letter, Mr. Pena mentions that Twitchell talked about a female dressed as a boy among guerrilla fighters taken prisoner in southeastern Louisiana. This letter appears in the periodical "Louisiana History", vol. 39, no. 1, Winter 1998, 87-88.

Does anybody have a copy? I'd like a transcription of this letter if possible. Thank you.
