The idea that the 25th La had men on furlough west of the River, and thus were included in the list with the Vicksburg units, would seem somewhat possible.

However, if the 25th had men west of the River, it would seem that other Louisiana regiments would also have men west of the River.

In other words, what makes this unit so different than any other Louisiana unit that it would be included in this list along with the captured units? Was there some special event that caused that unit to have a significant amount of men west of the River at that time?
