I'm trying to determine what became of Capt. Brenans Shamrock Guards. One of my wife's ancestor's served in this unit. What little I've found shows it was formed in New Orleans and marched in a parade in Nov. 1861. I was wondering if they might have joined the 6th Louisiana which was also an Irish unit. Any help would be appreciated.
