This could be considered slightly off-topic, but with the role that the Mexican War played in training some of the greatest Civil War military leaders, I think this is a legitimate question for this site. Does anyone know of any website, or other source, that lists Louisiana volunteers in the Mexican War? One of my ancestors from the Bayou Teche area, who was a captain in the Louisiana Partisan Rangers during the Civil War, would have been 29 when the Mexican War began in 1846 and I wonder if he got caught up in the war fever that hit the South at that time and joined up.
