It is with great sadness that I announce that Morris Raphael passed away on Friday morning July 1, 2011 in New Iberia, Louisiana. Morris was 93 years old. His funeral will be this Weds July 6 in New Iberia. I am not aware of all the particulars for the funeral at this time. There will be a mass for him at the Catholic church in New Iberia. Morris was indeed a fine historian, author of many books, and a gentleman. He was the author of "The Battle of the Bayou Country" and "A Gunboat Named Dianna." He will be greatly missed.
