I just wish we had complete records for all the uniforms our Confederate forebears went out in in 1861. Can you imagine what a point of rendezvous looked like in 1861, with so many styles and colors? A British journalist described LA's Camp Moore in May 1861, and noted the rainbow of colors among the men's attire! -- Jim Huffman, Co. B ("Edward's Guards"), 16th LA Inf.
