Wow! Can you send me a link about the black George Young Kelso's exploits? The other confusing thing is that black George Y Kelso enlisted in the Civil War on the Union side, and his nephew, the white George Young Kelso was in the Confederate Army. I don't remember if I mentioned that I found a lawsuit where the descendents of both men were fighting over a plot of land purchased in cash by George Young Kelso. Both said it was their ancestor, and neither possessed paper to back up the claim, although it is clear that the land was purchased by A George Young Kelso, but which is unclear. Neither got the land, because they couldn't prove it was owned by some OTHER George Young Kelso! I'm glad to have been of help!
