Jerri,

I was out of office for a few days and just getting to my mail now. The article by Dr. Horace Beach entitled "The Last Moments of the Gunboat Diana and her Almost Final Resting Place" is located on the home page of our website www.youngsanders.org on the menu bar at the top. On the menu bar look under Articles. Under Articles look for Louisiana History. Under Louisiana History look for Diana Article. Dr Beach had visited with Morris Raphael on several occasions before he completed his article. He used a considerable amount of Morris Raphaels research from his book on the Gunboat Diana and newly researched material of his own. Dr. Beach and his wife payed a visit here to the Center and then to see Morris and his wife in New Iberia. Morris Raphael passed away days after Dr. Beach's visit. Dr. Beach is planing to give a lecture on the Gunboat Diana here at the Young-Sanders Center sometime in 2012. We of course shall alert the public when this event becomes reality.
