I've received the following email from a gentleman who is a collector.
"I have a sideknife that has what appears to be H. LEVE or H. LE. VE.... on the handle and 2ND La Vols on the other side of the grip."
"I'm not sure if we are looking for a solider with the last name of LEVE or whether he had to abbreviate a longer French origin name like LeVeque or LeVelle, etc."
I've looked at the CWSS, Booth's Record and other online resources and I've come across a few possibles, including a Henry Levy of the 2nd Louisiana Infantry, but I'd like to share this with my friends on the message board and see if you guys have any ideas or comments.
