MANSFIELD - The first major renovation in recent memory of the Mansfield State Historic Site museum begins Monday, meaning the facility will be closed to the public through at least late April.

Renovations include the installation of new track lighting, flooring and wall treatments in preparation for new exhibits about the historic Civil War battles at Mansfield and Pleasant Hill.
The new exhibit, scheduled to be installed in late July, will feature artifacts, letters, uniforms and other materials related to the battle of Mansfield, the Red River Campaign of 1864 and the everyday life of the Civil War Soldier.
