Again a record for T. A. Perdue aka Fields H. Pardue appears on "United States Civil War Soldiers Index, 1861-1865". Citing this record: "United States Civil War Soldiers Index, 1861-1865," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FSTH-F35, T. A. Perdue, 1861-1865; citing military unit 31st Regiment, Louisiana Infantry, Confederate Soldier.
Does one site simply 'copy' from another? I cannot find this man, Theodore A. Perdue or any variation of his name, prior to a record of a 1855 marriage in Union County to Rebecca Younse. in 1860 he is living in Arkansas, so when the war began, I thought maybe he'd gone back to Louisiana to enlist and had been killed during the war. Anyone have any ideas on this puzzle?
Also, any ideas why someone would go by two different names?
