Re: Capt, E.J. Hall 1st. La.Cav.

I recently submitted questions concerning Capt. E.J. Hall in the 1st La. calvary in 1863,
Today, I was in touch with the South Carolina Library and was told that E.J. Hall was in the S.C. 1st Infantry Battalion Sharpshooters in 1861, That would explain why he entered the La. 1st Calvary in 1863. He was living in Fairfield county, S.C. in 1860 and 1861, 1862 before he moved to La. and joined the 1st. La. unit in 1863.
Does anyone know if the S.C. 1st.Infantry Battalion was at Ft. Sumpter or any of their other battles. In 1863, the 27th S.C. Infantry was formed and I read that the 1st. S.C. Infantry Battalion was incorporated into that unit. Does anyone know of this?
I do know that E.J. Hall's name is on the roster for the 27th, however, he must have left that unit because he moved to La. and went in the 1st. La. Calvary.
Capt. E. J. Hall was one the The Immortal 660.

Thanks for any help on this.
