John Fletcher Wyche, of New Orleans, married Mary Peebles, a descendant of the Brunswick Co. family of that name, and they had one child, James Wright Wyche. After the capture of New Orleans he moved to New Iberia, LA where he organized a company of militia, and was elected Captain. He served in the campaign west of the Mississippi. Subsequently he was promoted to the rank of Major.
