The reference to Amon being killed during the mutiny in Galveston cannot be correct as the mutiny occurred in August and Amon was killed on the 9th of Oct, 1863. The interment record says he was killed on that day by a Mr. Kemp who stabbed him. Also it is stated that he was in the Cook regiment as was recorded in this thread. It would be interesting to know what led Mr. Kemp to kill Amon as Amon had relatives with the surname Kemp. I wonder where records about the crime would be found.
