On pg. 427 in letter dated Feb. 19, 1865 I found the following;
"The raid to Bastrop and Monroe I suppose has fizzled out. Harrison of
course ran. I saw man who was in Monroe at the time and he says 200
Yankees were all that came. I do not think if Gen'l Smith don't cashier Harrison
he ought to be displaced though I believe it is Buckner's business legitimately."

This comes from the 1958 edition edited by Bell Wiley.
