FYI..Colonel Wingfield's Major DeBaun had 80 soldiers in addition to a company of the 9th Battalion Tennessee cavalry at the Wall's Bridge fight just across the line near present Gillsburg, Mississippi May 1, 1863. The only serious opposition to Colonel Grierson and his federal cavalry raid from LaGrange to Baton Rouge.
