L Ferrell, enlisted August 10, 1861 at Brookhaven, Miss., for 3 years or war, 2nd Sergeant, promoted 1st Sergeant September 25, 1862, promoted Brevet 3rd Lieutenant March 1, 1863, advanced to 1st Lieutenant, date unknown, wounded at Franklin, Tenn. December 17, 1864, gunshot (Conical Ball] fract. of inferior axillary [sic], admitted Dec. 26 to USA Gen’l Hospital, Nashville, Tenn. forwarded to Louisville, Ky. March 7, 1865, subsequently sent to Camp Chase, Ohio Prison March 10, paroled and transferred to Pt. Lookout, Md. prison March 18, admitted March 27, 1865 to Stuart Hospital, Richmond, Va., Debilitas and old wound,** furloughed for 30 days March 29, no further records

* This company subsequently became Company F 27th Regiment Mississippi Infantry

** This would indicate he had been exchanged and now in Confederate hands
