I have long admired your rapid, accurate and so willingly given assistance to all inquiries.

FWIW, it has been said more than once that Scott did, in fact, join a Louisiana Inf. Regt. after New Orleans fell.

One "historian" even cites his source for this statement as M 320, etc., and gives the full and total title for M 320, but does not give any unit information or the microfilm roll number on which the info could be verified (this was done pre Fold 3). Personally, I think he never found any evidence for Scott's stated service and just faked his footnote.

I give up trying to find verification for Scott's post NOLA service. If you couldn't find it, it must not be there.
