Nothing that has any information on his supposed "La Inf Regt" service.

In fact, the silence about it is deafening.

I'm still searching for any evidence that his military service is not just a myth.

Not sure I'll find any.

The man you found “John Scott, Private, assigned from Conscript Bureau to Ordnance Department, at Shreveport, La. on September 28, 1863 for three years, born in Switzerland, Iowa, age 43, 5’ 9”, dark complexion, black eyes, dark hair, Tin Smith, discharged for disability at Shreveport, October 8, 1864.” Is definitely not the fellow I am looking for. Age, place of birth, and occupation/ “job assignment” rule him out.

Thanks for your help
