Lt. Col Eugene Lamar was captured out of uniform in Baltimore and sentenced to hang but escaped Ft. McHenry in 1864. Oher than a few mentions of that fact, I have found nothing on him after that.
He may have died unrecorded or possibly changed his name. He shows up in some earlier CW records as LeMar.
If I remember correctly, he was in the Louisiana 14th.
