I just found this after tracing my Mother's genealogy. Her Father, my Grandfather, was the plaintiff in the property suit. I have a few personal records left by my Mother pertaining to this matter.

My Great-Grandfather was also named George Young Kelso. His grave is located in the old Daigre Cemetery off Military Highway in Pineville, La.

The 1882 plat of Alexandria, La. shows the West half-block South of the old Courthouse belonging to George Y. Kelso. I'm assuming this was a law office belonging to Black G.Y.K. State Senator or his White Father, maybe deeded to Senator Kelso. His Father, White G.Y.K. was said to have donated the block of land on the Red River for the rebuilding of the Courthouse after the war, although I have no firm evidence of this.
