Was wondering if I could maybe find out more about Company D 6 Reg't Louisiana Infantry? My 2nd great grandfather was John Augustus Couillard (Some of his records list him as John C Couillard) from what I could find out about his records he was wounded at Hays Brigade in Richmond showing he was sent to Howard's Grove Hospital. I have copies of the records on fold3 but if you could find something else I would appreciate it. Also how could I find out more about what was going on while he was in Howard's Grove? Records show him being there May 4, 1863 to sometime in June of 1863. Records show vul sclopt right foot which from what I could find out it looks like that would mean gunshot wound to his right foot. My family never passed down stories about him.
