I mainly did it to show people that the current group of guys out there in reenacting trying to dictate that they are the experts on everything are in fact woefully poor in their research. I have heard them make comments after 6 months in the hobby that they know all they needed because so and so found something on a website. As much as an information highway the internet is, it doesn't compare to real research. Granted, I didn't want to give them too much of a zinger by using primary sources, so I mainly used secondary sources they won't find in the local bookstore or even a small library. I even threw in a couple of internet sources so they wouldn't feel so bad.
