If you look at the service records of the men of the 19th Louisiana Infantry, you will find many notations of Franklin, Tennessee. Unfortunately for your query, they refer to a delaying action fought there on the retreat from Nashville and not the more famous Battle of Franklin on November 30th. At the "1st" Battle of Franklin, the 19th Louisiana was in the division next scheduled to attack just as darkness fell. They started out very early on December 1st and went across the same fields as the Confederates the previous day, but met no opposition as the enemy had fled to Nashville.
I will note some of the confusing notations maintained in the original rolls following the retreat from Nashville. For example, the file of Benjamin Franklin Wester of Company A states that he was captured at Franklin, TN. on December 17, 1864. 5th Sergt. P. C. Hightower of Company C was wounded and captured at Franklin on that same date. The list is numerous. Their sacrifices and many others helped what was left of the Army of Tennessee escape. That and they did manage to capture the flag of the 13th US Colored Infantry.
