I am seeking information concerning Company C of 1st Special (Wheat's) Louisiana Infantry Battalion in general and Henry C. Gardner (Gardiner) in particular. He is known in the family as H.K. and his federal oath of allegience lists his name as Henry Kenard Gardner.

I caught a fleeting glimpse of him on a Alabama site, listing him and his wife, Francis Hodo (Ellison, Elison) a week or so ago, in Pickens County, Ala.

I haven't been able to find the page again.
