Hello -

There are several CSA soldiers with the surname of STALCUP (also spelled Stalcop, Stallcup, etc.).

Apparently they are all related and derived from the Ancestral Stalcup (tm.) that arrived in Wilmington, Delaware back in the late 1600s. There apparently was quite a large Swedish colony there in Wilmington back then. Over time, the Stalcups migrated across the South, etc.

I also think there used to be a Stalcup family website (google it and see). It was run by a Larry Stalcup in Texas as I remember.
