There is a good bit about Sulakowski (including an ambrotype of him that I got from the Center for Southeast Louisiana Studies at Southeast Louisiana University) in my Sabine Pass book. He was the Chief Engineer in Texas and played a big part in the design of the forts in Texas. I wish we knew more about him. He apparently was a very talented but crusty person.
