Gaspard Tochman was given permission in 1861 to raise a "Polish Brigade," but I found info that said there were only 196 Polish born people in Louisiana at that time, so he had to recruit everyone he could in what became the 14th Louisiana and 3rd Battalion, Louisiana Infantry. With so few Poles in the state, the number of military age Polish men would have been extremely low, so I doubt if there were more than a handful who served in the army.
