Bayou Bourbeau Reenactment-NEW DATE!!!

The Battle of Bayou Bourbeau
Washington, Louisiana

September 28-30, 2007

As posted in the Camp Chase Gazette, please join us for this event that will kick off the Fall 2007 reenacting season!

Events include a Friday school program for local students, battle scenarios on Saturday at 2:00pm on Saturday and 1:30 pm on Sunday and Saturday night meal. powder bounty for first eight cannons registered.

The event is being held on spacious ground that will allow for the scenarios to take place in two different areas of the property, a pecan grove for camping and plenty of parking for spectators and reenactors! While the house is uninhabited and closed, on the property sits a home built circa 1827 by Pierre Wartelle, one of Napoleon's officers who settled in the area. The property has many areas that will also afford the campaigner unblemished ground to get away from it all!

Nearby is the antique steamboat town of Washington, Louisiana. The site is about an hour south of Alexandria, and hour west of Baton Rouge and 30 minutes north of Lafayette.

Sutlers and reenactors, please consider this event during your unit's fall planning! For more information and registration form, please contact Charles Lauret at patriot1861@yahoo.com or call 337-945-3163.

The Brig. Gen. J.J. Alfred A. Mouton Camp
