Re: known CS burials north of Alexandria

Nic,

This is all that I know. I am researching Likens' 35th Texas Cavalry in hopes of writing a unit history. Likens' 35th was at Monett's Ferry. I discovered a letter in Gary Joiner's recently published book LITTLE TO EAT AND THIN MUD TO DRIINK. In a letter written by DW Fields of Likens' 35th Texas Cavalry he mentions a graveyard where his comrade Jeff Morgan of Company "E" was buried with a wood headboard listing name company and regiment. He mentions others with similar headboards. I visited the site a few weeks ago and any traces of the cemetery are long gone.

I am fearful of relic-hunters who would see this posting then disturb the site out of greed but will tell you it is in Pineville-area.
