Re: Madison Rogers and L.L. McLaurin

David, I did some internet searching in the last hour:

Madison Rogers was age 23 in 1850 in Jackson Parish. He was the son of Robert Rogers, a SC-born planter age 57 in 1850, and his first wife E. Labeuf. Madison was a constable" in 1850 and was sheriff of Ouachita Parish in 1860.

Laurin L. Mclaurin was born in MS c. 1828, the son of Laughlin S. McLaurin (1793-1835, died Hind Co., MS) and his wife Mary Granberry. LLM married Mary Anne Burdette (Stone) 12-12-1855 Natchitoches Parish, and by 1860 had three kids. He was a rich planter/slaveowner in Natchitoches parish in 1860. He was kia 6-22-63 Vicksburg.

Hope this helps.
