Re: 11 Batt'n. Louisiana Infantry, 1862

I am Frank's cousin. Jim T --your message said the 11th remained in the Monroe area until December 186 . Did you mean to say 1862?
Does anyone know if their is a "diary" or "log" of events, etc., of the 11th Battn. for the period October 1 - 10, 1862?
Of course, it could have been illness that caused the two brother's deaths, but it seems so strange that illness caused the deaths of both brothers on the same day.
About two years ago, I obtained from the National Archives a copy of a document (Confederate Reference Card, General Index Card, for J. E. Adams, Co. D, Shelly's Battn.). This document reflected Burial 10/9/1862, and had a note saying "see Manuscript No. 3482". However, when I subsequently asked the National Archives for a copy of that "Manuscript No. 3482 of 10/9/1862", I was told that it could not be located. I feel this "Manuscript No. 3482 of 10/9/1862" would answer all the questions concerning the deaths of these two brothers. Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts? John Conner.
