During my childhood, a friend's parents invited me to visit their relative in Fishville, LA. The home was on a curve of the road facing a skating rink. I recall walking across a pasture behind the relative's house toward a small woods where we found a tall Civil War monument. It's story, if I recall correctly, was that the family had the monument erected on private property on the spot where their loved one fell.
I am curious about the marker. Would anyone have knowledge of it? I cannot recall (its been a good many years!) if it was Confederate or Union.
