The Louisiana in the Civil War Message Board

Thanks for this chance to gain more knowledge on the Civil War here in La.
Ive visited the wonderful website @ Camp Moore and plan to visit the real site soon. Thanks for all of the hard work that has been put into preserving the Camp.Maybe one day I too can participate,if not but to purchase one of the Bricks.
As I loose myself in the tangle of the info web, my desire for good info dwindles thru frustration but with the help of you and other boards maybe the info will fall into place.
I live smack dab in the middle of an area that played a very important role during the Siege at Port Hudson. All of the creeks and rivers mentioned in battle communications are known to me,the small towns and other landmarks. The hit and miss strategy of the Rebel forces were very effective in slowing the Union down but as you all know the end result favored the Union Army.
I will try to show my knowledge of what happened in those trying times as my info comes together.
Ill put to good use any help that anyone of you might be able to lend.
Again,I applaud you all for preserving the history of the Confederates.----West
