I have found an online Photo of Capt. John Summerfield Lanier (1839-1900)
Confederate Louisiana that served on the staffs of generals Leonidas Polk and Frank Gardner. He was forced to surrender at Port Hudson in 1863. After the war, he was a planter in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, and was active in politics as a Democrat.
