Another source, dealing mostly with Port Hudson is Mr. "Cotton" McCallum there in PH, located just across from the park entrance. His son owes one of the only houses in PH that was there during the sige.
I need to go see him as he is getting on up in the years. (I haven't been there in at least 2 years) Also he has a great deal of knowledge on the D-Day invasion. He was 101st AB, and jumped the night before, was captured and escaped. But, now I'm getting off topic.
