Re: 4th LA Infantry

Hi Art,
I have searched in vain for a history or related links for the 4th Regt. La. Inf. I am more familiar with Mississippi records. Is there a site with Louisiana regimental histories and campaigns?

I am trying to locate a burial site for one of their men who died on Aug. 5, 1864. He could have been wounded at Ezra Church, Utoy Creek. Some believe he was buried at Oakland and another source believes at Newnan.

I'm guessing that they must have been consolidated with another regiment. I know they fought in the Atlanta campaign, but my search of Orders of Battle have not turned them up. Were they part of Gibson's Brigade?

Art, Please email me directly. I have a personal research question about research at Carlisle Barracks.

Thanks
