Re: Lake Providence Cadets/4th LA Infantry

I have been doing research on the Lake Providence Cadets and the 4th Louisiana Infantry. Charles R. Purdy, captain of the Lake Providence Cadets, was killed at Port Hudson. His brother V. M. Purdy was also a member of the L.P. Cadets. He survived the war but died of Yellow Fever in 1905. My research shows V.M. Purdy did run a wharf boat business after the war.

I've been wanting to go through the old East Carroll newspapers for information on the Cadets. Could you email me offline at anne70115@yahoo.com.

Thanks for the great information.
