Yes, that is his father. Stephen and Martha came to Louisiana not long after their marriage. Stephen's father, Thomas, apparantly came with them. He is listed as living with Stephen in the 1860 census, but I find no record mentioning him in the 1864 accounts we have of the family around the Battle of Mansfield. Perhaps he had passed away by that time.

I don't know if you have followed the thread I had with Art Bergeron on this subject but it is apparant that Stephen's earlier military records were mistakenly listed as L. D. Lord. I'm sure that you would see more records there. I don't know much about ancestry.com. Is that a subscription service?
