The great liklihood is that he would have been sent south on the railroad to one of the towns between Jonesboro and Macon. Virtually every town south of Jonesboro had one or more hospitals. Griffin had several hospitals, also was one at Milner, several at Barnesville, at Forsyth, and of course at Macon. On the branch line, there were hospitals at Thomaston. While there were hosptial complexes at Newnan and LaGrange, it is unlikely that many soldiers wounded at Jonesboro would have been taken there initially, due to the fasct that the rail connection was cut by that time.
