None of the regiments of Gibson's Brigade went into Fort Blakely. The 1st Louisiana Heavy Artillery Regiment was in the forts around Mobile. None of its men were at Blakely either. Some companies of the 22nd Louisiana Consolidated Infantry Regiment acted as artillerists at Fort Tracy and Fort Huger until the fall of Blakely. They then went to Mobile and became a part of Gibson's Brigade.
