Re: Milliken's Bend After Action Report

I have a letter written by my Grandfather who fought in the Battle of Milliken's Bend dated June 8 63. He enlisted in the Confederate States Army when he was 13 years of age. The letter indicates he was camped 10 miles from Milliken's Bend, above and opposite Vicksburg. He describes the battle and killing several antagonists.

I am interested in obtaining more information about this battle and also visiting the battle site and museum in the spring. Could you tell me who or which museum could provide the most accurate information? I am interested in
DVD's, maps, pictures, etc. relating to the battle.

There are a number of names in the letter and I would be glad to share those with anyone interested. The letter is written in pencil on the back of wall paper torn from the walls of a house in which he was quartered.
Thank you!
