Mr. Martin, my grandfathers uncle was in Wheats battalion. He and all his brothers were confederate soldiers, but he was the family hero. He started as a Srg. and ended as a Captain. Was wounded many times and fought in most of the battles of the Army of Northern Va. His Co. (Catahoula Guerrillas ) stayed together as Old Co. D in Wheats 1st Special Batt., then as Co. B in Henry St. Pauls 7th Batt., then with Coppens, and finally as Co. I with the 15th La. Inf....his name was Captain Joseph Henry Dale, my family is proud of him.......Dr. Michael Dale
