after the detachment of co. k 1.1865 listed 1st regiment...1st la. cav.goes to ala....etc...they are in vicksburg 6.5.1865... and co k is in washington (near opelousas) 6.16.1865 under the command of lt. col rice and nothing is mentioned of co k (again)..... just cause the regiment list the regiment there does not always mean a company is there...i thought the same thing also until i began investigating in great detail...
