There will be a Battle Reenactment and Living History Weekend at Fort DeRussy State Historic Site, three miles north of Marksville, on Saturday and Sunday, December 1 and 2, 2007. It will be a family event, everyone is invited and there is no admission charge. The campsites will open at 10 AM both mornings, with the Saturday battle taking place at 2 PM, and the Sunday battle at 1 PM. Sutlers will be present. I will be present both days selling and signing copies of "Earthen Walls, Iron Men: Fort DeRussy, Louisiana and the Defense of Red River." We're expecting about twenty cannons, along cavalry, infantry and associated civilians.
